Alpha Community Health Centre
The Alpha Centre will benefit Gambia’s rural population by offering community health education to minimise the suffering currently experienced in these hard-to-reach places. The Alpha Centre will provide health services, educational knowledge on nutrition, support for girls’ education, and a vocational training centre.
Bansang Hospital
Since 1992, The Bansang Hospital Appeal’s founder, Anita Smith, MBE MRG, has dedicated her life to reversing the once terminal decline of the Bansang Hospital. Built in 1948, Bansang Hospital is the main referral hospital for the region serving some 600,000 Gambians. Bansang Hospital today is vibrant, cohesive and incredibly effective. It has near 100% staff retention - an unparalleled accomplishment in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Glove Project
The GLOVE Project aims to reduce poverty, establish sustainable enterprises, promote education, improve health, provide humanitarian aid, provide safe drinking water, organise volunteer placements, and support child amputees.
Jofi School
Founded by Joseph and Fiona Kajue in October 2009, Jofi School aims to offer schooling for children from poor backgrounds. The school’s aim is to give children the best opportunities possible with education being the key to freedom, choice and social emancipation. Through education, children from the Jofi School will have equal opportunities, the ability to take on top jobs, run companies and become self-sufficient.
