BEE MISSION

On a mission to support polinators who are crucial to our existence, and passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness because no one should be without food or shelter.

Improving Lives

The Bee Mission team are passionate about helping bees and creating opportunities for people experiencing homelessness.

Bee Mission don’t just have one mission, they have three:

The first mission is to build and install 500 beehives across the south of England. As primary pollinators, honey bees play a crucial role in plant reproduction and food production. British bee populations are declining rapidly due to pesticides, parasites, disease and habitat loss, and that's why Bee Mission is building beehives and creating habitats for our very important bees.

The second mission is to continue cooking hot, healthy, homemade meals to deliver to the people living on the streets in Bournemouth, Dorset, which the Bee Mission team have been doing since 2019. The Bee Mission team deliver up to 50 meals, three times a week, every week which equates to a staggering 31,200 meals per year.

The third mission is bringing these two missions together by creating opportunities for people experiencing homelessness to be involved in Bee Mission; to learn new skills, to go on training courses that will help them progress in life, and to be part of the Bee Mission 'family'.

Feeding People

Amy Foster and her team cook and deliver hot, hearty, healthy meals for 50 people living on the streets in Bournemouth town centre, three times a week, every week, every year.

And it’s not just food they deliver, Amy also carries important emergency supplies and donations including sleeping bags, dog food, toiletries, and most importantly, a regular friendly face that checks up on the wellbeing on the people living on our streets.

Installing Hives

Bees are some of the world's most marvellous and important little creatures. Honeybees are one of the chief pollinators and important in the production of fruit and vegetables, as well as the reproduction of plants.

Bees collect food by flying to areas with lots of flowers and flying from flower-to-flower harvesting nectar and pollen. More than ever before we need to recognise the importance of bees to nature and to our lives.

It’s no secret that Britain’s bees are in trouble. Honeybees are disappearing at an alarming rate due to pesticides, parasites, disease and habitat loss.

Training & Upskilling

From the beginning of Bee Mission’s journey in 2019, Chris and Amy have been working together to do what they can for the people they meet.

From helping cook the meals, to helping out with the beehives, and to more formal courses and training with third parties, Bee Mission are opening up opportunities to people.
