Proposed Land for Project Implementation

Proposed Land for Project Implementation

There are three proposed parcels of land secured for the construction of the healthcare centre, the community gardening project, and the poultry, fish, prawn, and cashew farms. According to the architects, the land that stretches along a road linking Nyamanar with its neighbouring villages from within the Gambia and Senegal would be the most suitable for the healthcare project. It measures 100m X 300m and is adjacent to a fuel station.

Project Prerequisites

For proper project implementation, the following will be required: Water Supply: a source of water will be needed as the identified land is within the outskirts of the village. Electricity extension: an electricity supply will also be needed for proper project implementation. The village currently gets its electricity from a funded 120-kilowatt peak Power solar PV mini-grid.

First Stage: Blocks for Fencing

The first stage will involve fencing around the site, this project will cost in the region of £20,000. The community will be asked to assist with this first stage to help bring the costs down. If the project can acquire two tractors to help with the fencing, these tractors can then be used by the community during the rainy season for soil tilling and the transportation of goods.
